Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
These are a few shots taken in my backyard this afternoon with my wife and I. I was disappointed in them and want to improve my people photography.

What am I doing wrong?

These images are tweaked to be what they are (sharpening, saturation boost, etc.)

Any feedback would be great. I feel that i'm evolving as a photographer except in this area. My focus for this shoot was to concentrate on adjusting my focal point in the eyes. Some worked, some didnt.

You must thank P&S, because, he/she has brought out a wonderful image from a less planned one; you are good at posing different ways; sure to improve with other aspects too

Regards :D

Move to Florida and they pics will instantly become better! The power lines really, really kill the first two for me. Unless you're a lineman for a power company or work at a power station (like my Uncle Jim did!), overhead power lines just....suck...as point-&-shoot so ably demonstrated with the crop and the clone-out job; getting the sky cleaned up really helps keep the focus on you two, as a couple. I am assuming these are self-timer shots, which are REALLY hard to do well.

#2 makes not too much sense...in Florida, yeah...but, you guys are wearing jeans and pea coats, and that concrete in the driveway must be 15 degrees Farenheit--or colder. That seated on the butts pose...just doesn't make sense with all that snow around. So...Florida....dreaming of Florida...

Thanks for the feedback. Florida would be nice!! Yesterday was roughly -10F when we took the photos, so the concrete was a bit cold but that's the price we pay for living where we do. My wife saw a similar pose from a friends photo and wanted to try to replicate it.

And yes, all of those photos were self-timer shots with me having 10 seconds to run and get into position, which is tough when it's slick outside.

I'll be sure to watch my background in the future. It feels like there is a lot to watch for/plan for before ever snapping an exposure, which is starting to become more and more apparant to me:) Hopefully that's a sign that i'm honing my skills:lmao:
