You never know what you will find in your local park. Sotted this Coyote or rather he spotted me as he came out of the woods. Then he laid to sun himself.
I got pretty close before I spooked him, ....what rush!!!

Super cloudy today but all worked out ok :)

Going back for more tomorrow.....I suspect he is here for the winter,

It looks like he knows you where there....careful!

Coyotes seem to be on the upswing.
I live a few miles from the NYC border, and we never had coyotes when I grew up.
Now there is a fast growing population, preying on people's dogs, cats and the local animal (mostly deer) population. There was a small pack of them in my yard for a couple of weeks following the deer and fawns that frequent our neighborhood. It has scared our community, and they are being eliminated one by one - if you know what I mean.

Nice photos of your pal...where there is one there will be more. ;)

Coyotes are the most successful animal species in North America.

At the turn of the 20th Century they were only found in the southwest and Mexico. Today, they are found in all 50 states and most of Canada.

Coyotes will eat anything, travel in packs or singely.

I know they're all over the place here.

Kinda rare for them to just walk into a park, but I hear hundreds of them howling pretty much every night.
