Here are some pictures of the sandhill cranes. Every year they land around the Kearney area and stay for almost 6 weeks. People come from all over the world to see this. The day we went was really cold and way to overcast. The pictures were taken in a farmers field.

Wow, that's a lot of cranes! Nice captures :) #3 is my favorite- the cranes really stand out against that nice, yellowed field. And I like how you included the (irrigation?) equipment.

I saw two sandhill cranes while driving in the country the other day, but they're just kind of considered pesky in this area, haha!

I really like cranes , they show upthe first of March and stay all summer .
I get plenty of opportunities. I guess I just like crawling through the dirt and taking pics.

Nice shooting. I like the first one...the birds are nicely spaced, their wings are in various positions, and the b/w treatment looks good. Thanks for sharing these.

Edit: Oooo, you posted more pics while I was typing my response! The last one above (in colour) is gorgeous. It looks like a wildlife painting.

Here's another shot of the cranes.
