Creative fireworks.

Sorry, I know I posted another thread for us to post fireworks photos to but I thought this one needed it's own thread. When you have a week of fireworks, you have to get creative when shooting multiple days.

Nice pic, your settings seem to be spot on but here's a suggestion and I only say this because I've seen many other pics similar to this >>> get yourself a good size mirror to put that crystal ball on. I'm sure you can imagine what effect and improvement that would be. Still, a cool shot!

Thanks. Yeah I could imagine the addition a mirror could have but the ball would not stay on the mirror in my yard, where this was shot.

A friend of mind bought a pair of those 6, 8 months back. The secret is placing a roughly 1/2-5/8 inch diameter white silicone washer underneath the ball...keeps the ball in place...

It is like a fisheye lens, use it in moderation. Mine was really inexpensive, my Mother-in-Law gave it to me.

I'm just saying for future reference, if you decide to try it with a mirror you can get a super cheap glass base for $7.99 on amazon that is made specifically to hold a crystal ball.
here's a pic of it/them. (you get two for the price)
I'd love to see some pics with a mirror and those included, you do good work. BTW, amazon has some other cool stuff for crystal balls like lighted bases, etc. for even more creative options.
