Once people used to spend money to have the memory of a loved one... these statues cost a ton of money. The cemetery was established in 1851... people thought that their loved one was still alive... even I, when I photographed these statues, felt like I was photographing people... sometimes it happened that a poor person would go into debt to make a statue... in the evening, when I got home after taking the photos, it started to rain... not a thunderstorm like in horror movies... nothing like that... and for a moment I thought about the statues in the rain...just standing there... I almost felt sorry for them... like for a human...
