Digital filter. This was with my D90. I just exposed in between having a blown out sky and having an underexposed foreground. The DR of the D90 is good enough that if I nail that exposure in the middle, I have enough room to use a graduated ND filter in lightroom 4 to pull the skies exposure down, and the grounds exposure up, and retain detail in everything.

Great image. Has a very mystical feel to it. As if you almost expect to see a Unicorn standing in the field.
