Photos NOT OK to edit
Crested Caracara from Viera Wetlands. There are several adults that have been here for years (I can tell by the bands on the feet). They will be breeding soon as the Eagles are. We usually get 3 or 4 Juvi's out of the season!
This one is banded, one of the others is banded and has a radio transmitter on his back. They are being tracked to see were the go.
Caracaras are native to Central and South America and is the national bird for Mexico!

Great catches of this beautiful bird ,I have yet to see one let alone get a photograph........ Someday though.

Gorgeous, Eric! I'd love to see one, but they are not allowed here in Arizona due to SB - 1070 and the fact that they are the Mexican national bird.
