Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I would really like some critiques. I would like something good about it, something you don't like, and what you would have done (optional). This image was taken with my Nikon D5000. Manual mode and manual focus. I shot in RAW, and edited with Photoshop Elements 12.

I am actually quite intrigued by the photo. It feels a little yellow so the color temp might be high but for some reason I think it fits. Something about it adds to the spring theme of the regrowing plant and the warm temperature helps convey it. I like how you can see just a few branches but it makes you imagine the other branches regrowing and you can see tinges of pink on the other branches behind the focus.

What you did with your DoF was great in keeping me focused up front but lets me imagine what is going on behind it.

good:

Nice dof. focus seems sharp where wanted. exposure is ok, a little bright but ok. colors are nice.

Bad: boring. it's pic of a cherry blossom but from so far away as to lack detail. there's no subject except twigs with a spot of color.

What I'd a done: picked a subject that held some meaning and focused on it. Macro in this case on a blooming bud.

1. I love the color temperature, and the OOF background.

2. Id have liked it to be cropped tighter. More into the main branch.

You make some great points. I see how you could view the photo as boring. If I had a macro lens *cries*, I would have tried to get that close up blooming bud shot.
