Welcome to the forum! You will get much more effective critique if you narrow the number of images down to 3 or so for critique. I'd suggest picking your 3 favorite.

thanks I've narrowed it down, all critique appreciated;)

Keep an eye on what's going on in the background, your subjects look good but there's also extra stuff and overexposed light sources in the frames that's a bit distracting. In the last one the backlight has messed up the white balance.

Thanks for the advice!

Go get a book on composition and read up. These are what people call "snapshots". Just pictures of friends and family that mean something to you but have zero interest for other people. You have some technical issues as well, so read read read.

There's too much to even give you a few pointers here. You need to go get some basics down on your own first.

1. Underexposed
2. Underexposed
3. Missing part of a head
4. Not straight, poor background
5. Underexposed, poor background

a) Study exposure. Your camera metering system will not always give a proper reading. It's up to you to know when and why.

b) Study focus. Your camera autotofocus system will not always give a perfect focus. It's up to you to know when and why.

c) Study depth of field. Depth of field can make or ruin a photograph. It's up to you to know when and why.

d) Study composition. Cut off heads, things growing out of heads, poor choice of background, are all things that you control.

e) Learn the difference between landscape and portrait orientation. It's called "Portrait" for a reason!
