I'm a novice who enjoys photography. Any suggestions on taking better macro pics like these? Took these with a canon 5d marklV and canon EF 100mm f/2.8L is USM

What were your settings for this image?

The biggest improvement I can see at this point is choosing the primary subject and ensuring it is in focus. If there are two focus points, ensuring they are on the same focal plane (same distance from the sensor) will help with this.

1st image has the centre of the top flower in focus however the same point on the second flower is not. This is due to the two flowers being at a slightly different distance.
2nd image I'm finding it hard to tell what part of the image is in focus.

If you are doing this handheld I would suggest getting into a stable position before taking the image. This is usually having a stable footing/kneeling position. Keeping your elbows down by your side and not out like wings.
