CS4 Black and White Layers

Hi guys im having a little problem with CS4 when I have 2 black and white layers set on different blending modes and I adjust the channel slider it adjusts the image but the slider doesnt actually move and resets to the default number as soon as I let go of the slider (it does adjust the image though), this would be fine as i could just write down the number for each channel when I adjust it, but then when I select a different channel it then resets the first channel and only affects the channel I have then selected.

I hope that makes sense and someone has a solution, I may have pressed something by accident or it maybe just a bug in the program but either way its gettin rather annoying.

Weird.

May be overkill, but I had all sorts of user interface issues and simply re-installing the program helped. But that was very bad, if it's just this slider maybe you have found a bug????
