one little thing I'd add, women like the smooth look...and sometimes need it. however guys rarely need it. One thing I do, after smoothing over the skin as a whole, I mask back in the mans original texture. takes maybe 2 minutes.

could just be a "me" thing, but I feel a mans face...even a boys, should not be smoothed, unless we are fixing acne. I think in shot 3 the mans face is too smoothed over. Hers is a tad for my taste...but thats just a taste thing and you or she may like it fine...no biggie. but next time you're processing, try it out...if you run portraiture or imagenomic or something that deals with all the skin....just do it on a new layer and siimply mask in the mans original face and it keeps it more "genuine", for me anyway.
