Do you do all this with your 100mm macro lens? I've been looking at getting a macro lens, or micro as Nikon chooses to call it, and I can't decide if the 60mm would be long enough, or if I should go with the 85mm or the 105mm or maybe the 200mm. I love your work and it's very, very sharp. So yeah, just let me know what your equipment is for your insect shots, because they are SO SHARP!

thanks guys. Yes, I use the 100mm. The longer the focal length the more working distance you'll have from your subject. Makes it much easier to prevent scaring them.

Chris- I use an external flash connected directly to the camera with a Lumiquest softbox.
