D300s only shooting between 3 and 7 seconds of video??

I didnt really know where to put this, as there is no technical support section to the forum (I highly reccommend!), but I figured video could be considered beyond the basics... But, my D300s seems to only want to shoot between 3 and 7 second videos. Sometimes it says I cannot shoot video at all. I dont understand why this is? What settings do you need to diagnose the problem? I have tried it on single, CL, and CH modes, all to no avail.

Any advice? Have you ever heard of this?

Your card writing speed is too slow perhaps ?

This is the card I was trying to shoot it with:

LSD16GBSBNA100 Lexar 16GB 100x Platinum II Series, Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) Memory Card

I have shot them before on this same card. I have longer videos on the card. I can't figure out what the problem is. I have 237 Fine JPGs left on the card, so it's not a space issue either. I will try another card and see if that is the problem.

Well, that was much more simple than I thought it was gong to be. I also had a 16 GB CF of the same quality in my camera. I took that out, leaving only the SD card in there and POOF! Now I can take full length (5 min ) videos again! Maybe the 31GB of used memory is what was holding it up.

Interesting, do you have it setup to write video to the CF or SD? I have mine set to write to SD and CF overflow to SD.

As do I. SD as the main card, since the CF was knowingly full, with overflow to the CF.
