Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I have been playing with the micro setting and I usually have good success with it but sometimes it just tries to focus and wont shoot. Anyone have any advice to pass along :D thank you much

Page 56 - Getting Good Results Using Autofocus - of the D3100 Reference Manual (a PDF file on the software disc) shows and explains 6 scene situations where AF will have trouble.

Of course, there has to be enough light for AF to work, so make sure you have the AF Assist Illumination enabled ans works with the lens you have on the camera - pages 57, 134, and 171.

If you used a regular lens and not a macro lens then you might have been to close to subject as every lens has a minimum distance, if you are bellow this distance the lens cant AF.

Thank you much! Both of those helped a lot there were some times I'm pretty sure I was to close =)

To that there is a very simple solution, get a Macro lens.
I use Nikon 60mm 2.8G Macro, love this lens-super sharp and does a great job for Macro.
