D500 to D850 -- Help pleas

Holy cow Batman! I'm feeling more inclined to get a D850 when I can find the right price.
As a hobbyist, I can't really justify caring around two camera bodies. I really just want one that will fit most of my photographic needs. I think with the extra grip on the D850 I could use if for BIF when needed and with the in-camera stacking ability I can use it for macro as well.
Anyone selling a D850 :)

What he said. Another thing the D850 does is crop mode which is roughly the same resolution as the D500. I use mine all the time with a 300mm in crop with a battery grip and the big battery. This gives me 9 fps and the focus sensors can cover most of the frame. I shot this yesterday with an old 70-300 f/4.5-5.6, @ f/5.6, 1/2500. With a little noise and sharpening help from Lr and Ps, it came out pretty well.

Beautiful shot!!!

Just a quick update on my hunt for a good value on the D850.
So far, no real hits on one just yet.
Since I can only afford one camera -- I'd like it to be the D850. Granted, I don't see much difference on my monitor between my D500 and the rented D850, but for the very few photos that I print, it would be nice to have as many pixels to work with as possible.
I'm not "flush" with cash, but I'm also not stingy.
Question: Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with OfferUp -- frankly, I find it a bit iffy -- maybe I'm just overly cautious.
And, BTW, I have sincerely appreciated those of you who took a moment to share your knowledge and advice with me.
Regards,

Could be your present lenses are preventing you from seeing the difference. You'll need the best lenses ($$$) to take full advantage of the D850's sensor. I can see where the other features of the camera appeal to you, though. B&H, KEH and MPB are trustworthy resellers. Make sure you get a reasonable return policy.

Hey Razky! Thanks for the note. I have been to all the sites you mentioned and agree they are trustworthy. I also keep an eye on Facebook Market Place.
Frankly, I think my monitor is as much the problem as any lens I own -- although I do try to use quality Nikkor lenses. Currently I only have an HD monitor, and I have been toying with moving up to a QHD or full 4K.
So far I have not really found an exceptional deal on a D850 -- and as a retired dude -- finding a great deal is imperative.
I find it entertaining to frequently look for deals. I'm in no hurry and have decided to make the most of my D500 -- which is no slouch!
