D600 arrived! (photo intensive)

Got the new (used) camera unpacked just before it was time to leave for the Western Conference Finals (Yay Thunder!). Couldn't take the camera in the arena, but I shot a few pics on the way to/from the game.

Quite a front passing thru, so I pulled over to snap a pic on the way.

Really a big step forward from the D5500, which is a very fine camera in it's own way.

Focusing and shutter release is SO much faster and confident on the D600.

Really happy with it.

However, sadly, it DOES have a spot on the sensor. It appears on multiple lenses, so I know it's the camera (I cloned out the spots on the first couple of pics above, and it's not noticeable in the other 2).

I've circled the spot below. Mail it in for service or DIY?

Check Nikon website as once registered they'll send you a prepaid mailing box and will cover all transportation expenses

It goes towards a possible D610 upgrade (3 strikes and you upgrade) so I'll just send it- they've already supplied a free shipping label!

PS- no complaints. I knew of the potential issue when I selected the d600 and this is no biggie. Probably get a new shutter!

I think you'll really like the 600, I've never regretted getting one myself.

I couldn't say it better myself. Oh wait, Robbins said that. We've been saying the exact same things lately. lol

You'll find that the speed of the entire system is much faster, the flexibility is much better which helps you to get to the real issue, taking the photo. I used a d7000 before which was a fast camera for sports, the d600 is a bit faster but the low light sensitivity really helps even in the varying sunlight. and then when the gets darker (even cloud cover) it's just so much better.
