D610

D610 output is VERY good! The AF is the weakest point, at least with consumer-speed zooms.

I found newer lenses with a built in focus motor did a much better job than older screw zooms.
Granted, the AF system in the D600 wasn't top end, but lenses like my newer tamron 70-200 f2.8 focused faster and more consistently than my older nikon 300mm f4 or 35-70 f2.8 lenses that relied on the cameras screw drive for focusing.

I can only imagine those newer lenses when paired with a better AF module in something like the D500.
 
When there's enough light, I find the D600 nails the focus damn well. I only really complained about it once I needed to shoot in poorly lit reception halls and dance floors and simply could not focus whatsoever, where the D800 can.
