D70 cheap remote?

I just read that some people have used their Palmpilot to remotely trigger their D70. Even better, I've read that some people have actually used cheap programmable TV remotes.

Anyone here tried that?

Never tried it but I guess it would work. Never really thought of it but a D70 remote only runs around $16 so it's not like you're saving a fortune that way.

Oh...I though I read that the Nikon remote was fairly expensive...so this would be a big money saver.

I looked into using my palm pilot to do this, but it required a program for the palm (one of the universal remote programs) and it was more expensive than the Nikon remote. I just ordered the corded remote though Amazon a few minutes ago.
