D750 help only works in live veiw

Help lol I'm sure this is nothing more than a setting I'm missing on seeing.
The last couple times out I can only seem to get this camera to take pictures in live veiw mode.
I have a fully charged battery and I seem to remember finding something I had set wrong once before but do not remember.

I think you may have pressed the LV button. Under the ok button there's another with letters Lv in the centre, press that; there will be a clunk sound thats normal.

Well just call it rookie mistake.
It was the focus lock that was turned on while shooting in the fog lol
All is good now!
