d80 or d40

I'm also a beginner and I'm thinking about buying my own DSLX. This topic has been really helpful to me because I'm still doubting between the d40, d80 and d60. I now know the big differences between the d40 and d80 but what about the d60? Is it worth the extra dollars (euros)?

I've seen D80 bodies go for $400 and D40s go for $300> refurbished. Who is charging you so much?

I recommend the D80. You'll grow out of the D40 quickly, as I did. Its small, cheap, plasticy, and lacks CLS, an AF motor, and a decent button layout. You'll be much happier with the D80, and it will last you longer.
