As for the image, if you're going to use flash for portraits, you really need to invest in an off camera flash. The oncamera has a unfortunate trait of making images a snapshot.
I would slow the shutter. Maybe 1/40 and even higher the ISO. Unless thats what you really want, just shadow of the trees
When you're outside, you might not have anything to bounce it off of. Look into some pocket wizards, or variations of![]()
