    Was this on camera flash or did you have it camera right?

    It could be because her hair is the lightest but the light looks hotter on the girl on the right.

    YEP - got an SB900 and know how to use off camera flash

    call this incident - LAZINESS and hurry up before it gets too dark

    When you're outside, you might not have anything to bounce it off of. Look into some pocket wizards, or variations of :)

    I would slow the shutter. Maybe 1/40 and even higher the ISO. Unless thats what you really want, just shadow of the trees

    and avoid flash all together

    what about the flash at camera right and a reflector on opposite end
