Damselfly Sympetrum obtrusum

Hi all,

it is my first post in this wonderful forum. I began macrophotography last june and got hooked immediately. Here are two shots of a Sympetrum obstrusum taken in my backyard.

Nikon D5000, Nikkor 40mm micro f2.8G. Natural light, no tripod.

The second one is underexposed.

I would like just a little more dof on both of them.

BTW, it's a dragonfly, not a damsel - wings at rest are straight out to the side, not laid back along the body.
