Dark Shots of Yorkshire

Hi everyone,
Took these at Christmas. The sky was so ridiculously un-photogenic but I think these turned out alright. What do you think?

They are too dark for my liking, but my liking is not the measure of all things!
If this is exactly what you envisioned on that rather gloomy day (Christmas? And THAT gloomy :shock: ???), then so be it.
Even though the dark water and comparatively bright sky in the first really don't work for me ... I can go with the second, kind of, but not really with the first...

(The first also shows that your sensor needs to be cleaned...)

I could stand a little more lead-in on the second one with the lines past the third quadrant at least maybe almost to center. It would be the rubbish bin for the first but different strokes for different folks..
