darkroom paper?

Does anyone have any suggestions on what black and white darkroom paper to buy? What brand is good but not expensive and also what would be better glossy or semi glossy or whatever else kinds they make.

Ilford multigrade RC pearl finish is the choice for many folks starting out in the darkroom. You can get Arista brand, which is supposedly Ilford in a house brand package from Freestyle for cheaper.

Glossy, semi-gloss, pearl, satin, matte... it's a matter of personal preference. Try some out, see what you like. Or if you see a print that you like the look of, ask what kind it is.

I agree with Matt on the Ilford mg rc pearl. It's one of my faves.
