~ Day Is Done ~ The sun low on the western horizon casts a warming light on gun dog trainees REX, TRAD and MAC at the conclusion of today's training session. The lads hanging tongues speak volumes to the physical demands placed on these retrievers. during a typical session. Don't let them fool ye as most of the physicality is self imposed due to the intense drive that is hardwired into their DNA. The day ended with some patience development training whereby they are required to SIT quietly and without extraneous movement, a very pertinent skill for any dog that hunts waterfowl. At their post on a training table, the trio will remain there until given a release command. It appears that rehydration will be the first order of business.
