Alright, so I've been doing some heavy duty research on 3 cameras. The t3i,60d, and the 7d.
I really want to go for the 7d, but I think it may be out of my price range. So I have been comparing the t3i and the 60d. I love photography, mainly still shots, some moving.
What draws me to the t3i and the 60d is the hd video combo with the tilting screen. The quality of video they take is just phenomal to me, so now I have two similar cameras but two different animals at the same time.

How do you compare the two?

Do you think canon will be releasing a new camera following the 60d or t3i anytime soon?
Would you wait and save a little longer just to have the 7d?

A pro photographer friend of mine owns both the 7D and the 60D...we had a discussion about the merits of both, and he is VERY happy with the 60D and the tilt screen for video shooting and low-angle viewing, and for the price/performance ratio that it offers.

As to a new camera coming soon....Canon releases new cameras faster than just about any other manufacturer. The recent earthquake/tsunami and the resulting disruption of the Japan economy and transportation system might delay new products for a while.

There are several sites that compare test results on cameras. But other than build quality and dedicated controls there is not much output difference between the models you listed. The 7D will be the better build, more controls, more cross AF points, fastest shutter over both the 60D and 3Ti. The 60D is in the middle with similar that it is slightly better than the 3Ti, 3Ti only has 1 cross type AF point.. They are all within a couple scoring points of each other. Again 7D out on top but not by a big margin. 60D in the middle by slim margin. Basically it deppends on how important build is to you. 3Ti has the slowest shutter at 4k. So, if dedicated controls and buttons don't bother you. Picture quality is nearly identical between the 3 bodies. 3Ti only has 1 cross type AF point.
