In #1 I like the DOF and focus on the purple light but the dark red light in focus at the bottom of the frame is distracting. Might be better cropped to isolate the purple light as subject?

The blue light behind and perpendicular to the subject is somewhat distracting. Possibly change perspective so the purple light is in the open, or at least doesn't have a light directly behind it?

#2 doesn't do much for me. The jumble of lights forward combined with shallow DOF make it difficult to tell what's going on and make the focus sloppy IMHO.
