I so i got a message from someone who goes to my school because i started advertising for headshots. I have been doing headshots myself for a few months and have had a few clients. one of them wanted pretty intricate looks that needed backdrops and lights so i split the gig with a friend who is a pro and has a studio.
i the message today told me what they want out of the shoot and i want someone to interpret technique wise how i need to prepare.
they want:
"two looks, a young soft look, and also evanescence/gothic look"
i can imagine kind of what they are looking for
but to experienced photographers, what do you guys think this translates into in terms of angles, lighting, etc etc, photog techniques?

Soft Young Look: soft lighting, making them look warm and inviting. Making them glow.

Gothic Look: Dark, cold, harsh lighting, lots of contrast.
