Namibia, 2017. 5 year drought.

1) Fish River Canyon.

2) Wild horses in the Namib desert near Aus.

3) Wild horses in the Namib desert near Aus.

4) Luderitz to Aus railway track.

5) The Forbidden Zone. Coastal mountains near Luderitz, a massive diamond rush happened in this area in 1906. The temperature was about 42C (107F) when we were there... and that was in May, which is their November.

Nice images. Looks like it hasn't change much since I was there a couple of years ago. I am really impressed with your Fish River Canyon shots. It is an incredible sight to see and a place that not a lot of tourists visit - rivals the Grand Canyon in magnitude in my opinion.

It's the 2nd biggest Canyon in the world and has very few tourists by comparison. We were fortunate that my brother (who lives in Namibia) knows people and was able to get permission to visit a section that's off the grid... The road there is barely a road, more like a marked route through the rocky wilderness and one and a half hours each way from the main road to the canyon. It could be used as an advertisement for 4x4s! We had to call when we left the main road, check in at a station near the canyon and call again when we left the track back onto the main road. If you broke down out there and no-one knew you were there you'd probably be dead.

I admit that I did a fair bit of PS work, particularly on the 1st and last to bring out the colours and improve the clarity. There was a fair bit of dust in the air... having been no rain for years.
