Anhinga comes from the Brazilian Tupi language and it means "devil bird." the anhinga has other nick names like snake bird, or darter bird.

We do have cormorant family members out here. Not
the prettiest of birds but efficient strategy of adapta-

Yep, either drying out or trying to thermoregulate it's body temperature. The name anhinga came from the Brazilian Tupi language which means "devil bird." it has other nick names like, darter or snake bird, because of it's snake like neck of course.
