diamond in the sky, c&c please

So i was over the meadows the other day with my little one, camera in hand and thought i would point my camera towards the sky and take some random shots.
Well this was one of the results.
Yep. i know it looks like a chocolate box picture but theres somthing about it that i really like.
I done some editing on the clouds and cloned out some fencing that was in the bottom of the picture in one corner. ( i really didnt want to crop it.)
Anyway im looking for c&c please, ( now im worried,lol, perhaps it really is a naff picture but i just really like the sun and thought it looked amazing) and also what can i do to make the picture a little sharper

The photo is not in focus (note the clouds) and cannot be made much, if any, sharper.

Thankyou for answering.
I did use focus,
But i focused on the sun. And the camera bleeped to tell me that it had locked the focus on the sun. although i didnt use my tripod. it was hand held, could that be why the clouds are out of focus?

yes, or maybe you caould of used a higher f-stop like 8-11 to get everything in focus. The lighting is very nice in this picture though.

Don't focus on the sun. The clouds would have been preferable.
