Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

Now the four day weekend that marked the celebrations of our Queen, Elizabeth II, and her sixty years on the throne have come to a close I think it's a good chance to show off some of our images captured in cities, towns and villages across the country.

I was asked to cover my own village's celebrations and to create a small wall hanging to commemorate the events of the Jubilee. I have chosen to post a select few photographs from the celebrations at our village hall. Please C&C, by all means, and don't forget to post some of your own!

I wanted to capture the event in a truthful, candid way. Far away from the style we are likely to see in newspapers over the next few weeks. For these images I used a 5D with either 50mm 1.4 or an 85mm 1.8. I am not totally pleased with my black and white conversions but I simply don't know how to achieve the look I want.
