As far as the actual picture goes, how is the set up?
Is there too much space on the bottom of the picture?
What would be a better way to position the car?

I'm new here, so I apologise if I'm taking a bit of a liberty, but...
You show a lot of the background, but only the wood is nice to look at. Directly behind the nice car is a bunch of litter and confusion. A tighter crop would help. Tradition says to give more room to where the person is looking, or in this case where the car is pointing. As long as you've got Photoshop, you might have a play along the lines of:
Also, I took out a bit of cyan and blue, and used the Shadow filter a bit. Otherwise, the contrast is much as you had it.
When I copied your shot off the page and opened it in Photoshop, I noticed it was much less red than it appears in my browser (Firefox on a Mac). I also notice that some shots I've posted look more red than I've intended. Am I alone here, or do others notice this "reddening" of images?
So, to the original question, "did you go too far with photoshop", I'd say not far enough.
