Honestly, I think maybe i'd like it better if it were in color.

Yep, I agree, since this was shot in color, leave it color. Or pick up a film camera and shoot it in B&W eacesign:

I like it in B&W. However I think you should move in on the subject just abit. The extra space in the frame is distracting. Other then that good work.

I like it in black and white because I think that brings out the texture a lot more than colour would, but I agree with moving the subject and having a little less of the surrounding space. I also think that this could use a boost in contrast, as there isn't really any black in this black and white. It's all varying shades of grey which makes it appear flat on my screen.

Thanks for the suggestions! I boosted the contrast in iPhoto and tried a few different crops and this is what I came up with. I think it looks much better. What do you guys think? Thanks,
