Hello to all and Happy New Year:

I'm photographing a particular product that looks very good with natural sunlight. What I'd like to do is set up a temporary studio outside using two large size white photographic background papers. Now, to diffuse direct sunlight, I was thinking about purchasing Westcott's 96" x 96" Scrim Jim, 3/4 stop.

Besides using the Scrim Jim, are there any other good options for diffusing direct sunlight? Before learning about the Scrim Jim I was thinking about taking a large sheet of fabric suitable for light diffusion and just wrapping it around a background paper holder and pulling it straight down at an angle.

Thanks for the help,

Chris

Why not make your own with plumbers push fit (easier to store) or glue piping and some different thickness materials, you would save a fortune, you could also do the same for the sides
