Wife made potatoe beer cheese soup for dinner tonight. Topped it off with more cheese, bacon crumbles and green onions.

So my question is, how do I take better food pictures? I mounted my 430ex II on a tripod shooting directly over. I got some shadowing though, and want to eliminate that. Here's the setup:
