JOHN DAY FOSSIL BEDS, OREGON, U.S.A.

Hoppy:
i didn't see any fossils while there though it is supposed to be one of the best places in the world for them. i visited the painted hills section and the colors in the picture are from the decay of the differant layers of volcanic debris.

Ooo, what fabulous rich colors! My husband and I have a little fossil collection going. I think there are supposed to be some small dig sites within a couple hours from here, but I'm sure they aren't so colorful!

The colours in here are amazing. Wow.
I really like this.
All I have been wondering about since yesterday night (when I saw this first) is: if that bush were not inside the frame and you had only concentrated on the reds of the mountain and the blue sky ... would it have become flatter or more interesting? More abstract, that is for sure ...

thanks all!

LaFoto: ote if you like. i have some other pics from there and may put them up later. i should have run them as a series and still could if its ok to repeat a couple. they would look good together.

luck!
