DLSR Recommendations?

Hey guys! I'm quite new to cameras, but I've been interested in photograpy since I was a small child. I'm wanting to purchase my first DSLR camera, and I'm torn between the Nikon D3000 and the Canon Rebel T1i. I know they're not new, but I'm planning on purchasing an older used camera due to my $300-or-lower budget. Which is better and why? Would you recommend any other cameras that fit my criteria? Really appreciate the help!

I would go for the T1i personally. That's the camera I learned on though. I've since sold it, but it was a pretty good tiny little camera. I find there to be a little more value in Canon entry level cameras than Nikon, but that's just my opinion.

Also, I wouldn't cross post threads. Posting one thread is enough.

The D3100 is not the same as the D3000.

$300 dollars huh? Hmmmmm... definitely a tight budget but I think you can possibly do better. You can possibly get these with a lens on ebay:

Nikon D200
Nikon D80
Nikon D3100

Also recommend looking on craigslist as well.

20D? You can get them for $200 or less.

Your location is US, So try to look for a used body on the internet!
Out of the two cams you mentioned, I'd go for T1i, there's no way I'm gonna pick D3000.
