Do album templates cause you to lose sharpness or image quality?

I normally print my wedding albums through Graphi. Graphi has their own design software but I have recently switched to a new printing company. I now use purchased album templates and am noticing that my album pages are not coming back as sharp. Do most photogs sharpen album pages before printing? Are the templates causing a resolution or image difference?

Images destined for print can usually be sharpened more than images destined for electronic display. However, one still has to consider image content and edge frequency in each image.

I usually find a template from Rockstar Exposure.. they are so much variety and then I print it through BRI- Black River Imaging just in case you haven't heard of them. They have come out with some awesome templates and album leathers that really look awesome together!
