Do I have a sensor that need cleaning?

Reckon how grease gets on the sensor- has to be heat I suppose.

Splatter from the shutter. Early D600s had a horrible time with this, to the point that Nikon repaired all of them free for the asking.

Keep in mind that when you clean the sensor you are actually touching the infrared filter that sits on top of it. One should be gentle but you are not actually touching the sensor directly.

This reminds me that I should be more proactive: I tend to spot dust on the sensor while editing an image that I really like.
