Do you clean and disinfect you dslr?

How do you clean and disinfect your camera body and exterior lens? I think I got bacteria on my camera after shooting animals. Do you use formula 409, Ajax, ammonia, rubbing alcohol, windex, Clorox wipe, or bleach?

What can I say - I live on the edge.

OP: Rocket blower and a clean cloth (outside) and a sensor cleaning kit (inside) usually works for me.

I recommend replacing the soap bleach and fabric softener with several boxes of instant mashed potatoes.

For those who are too damned lazy to do a good hand-wash in the sink, or a quick 3,500 psi pressure wash (both fine, fine choices BTW!), there is also the lazy bastid's route...SimpleGreen spray cleaner...

I clean with a damp cloth - but I don't disinfect.
Your camera was covered with bacteria before you took photos of animals. I hope you didn't make the animals sick.

Bacteria are ubiquitous and virtually inescapable in normal human life.

comes in pretty smelly scents too. you camera will smell pretty. They have general antibacterial wipes too. kind of like to wipe the snot off your kids nose kind of thing...

I confess...I occasionally use an OLD microfiber cloth, to clean the top LCD,rear LCD, and the top deck of my Nikons. I never,ever use that cloth to clean anything "optical", just as a nose-grease and finger-print wiper cloth. Maybe once a year, I'll clean the hand grip and large body areas with an old T-shirt, freshly laundered, and use small amounts of tequila as a grease-cutting agent...put a bit of tequila on a small segment of the T-shirt, and wipe it around, then use another segment of the T-short and wipe off the moisture. Takes about 25 minutes and 12 shots of tequila before I'm done, and I let out several really loud "Arriba! Arriba! Andele! Andele!" cries, then I fall asleep on the couch, and usually, I wake up three to four hours later with a headache, but a spotlessly clean camera...
