Sounds exactly the same to me but then im a photographer not a writer. No wait I must be a soccer mom I have a DSLR not a film camera. And yes trolls usually do offend. Guess our forum isn't dramatic enough so you created your own congrats Troll.
This is like saying an author is not an author if they use a computer and word processing program instead of a pen and paper. Guess those of use with digital cameras are sol for processing cause last I checked the chemicals used in a dark room were harmful to electronics. TROLL much?
that is one of the worst attempts at parallel analogy i have ever read, work on it a bit and i will respond.
i think i have offended many of you by insulting the crutch that separates your work from what a soccer mom can do, but wait for the lightroom app then you will be equals
so what do YOU process your photos with? are you saying you do NO post work at all?
i doubt you invented wet processing, so you must use predetermined mixes and ratios.
your cheating just as much as the rest of us. except your just not smart enough to realize it.
speaking of terrible analogies...you cant even accept the fact that darkroom processing is the same as any digital process.
seriously man, if you arent able to grasp the concept of digital processing, or have the ability to use it..its ok. not everyone is computer savy enough to use LR or PS. you dont have to troll here to boost your analog ego. we will still love you as a photographer.
i wish you understood reading comprehension betteri never actually said it was more pure or superior i was simply saying it was DIFFERENT and there should be a line drawn in the professionalism of it

I wish you understood logic better.
Like the logic that every photo is a visual representation of what we see, and whether you're developing the darkroom or Lightroom, it's all the same. Your argument is inherently weak, because either way the photo is being developed. Who are you or anyone else to draw the line in the sand?

ugh it sickens me that someone like who you seems to understand the darkroom process like yourself can have so little respect for it... chemicals mixtures are what invented photography they go hand in hand. cameras and computers and lightroom dont go hand in hand photography exists without it.

you need to watch the digital rev videos where they take photos with **** cameras and get similar results to what you get with an amazing camera and lightroom.. the difference between pros and hobbyists right there

didnt know mr. adams was the definition of a photography, maybe hes just another idiot with an opinion like me, only difference is you subscribe to his

Just utter nonsense. You can't be serious.
Oh well, I'm writing you off as a troll now. Enjoy your pointless thread.

chemical mixtures go hand in hand with FILM development, and the processing that goes along with it. editing programs go hand in hand with DIGITAL photography, and the processing that goes along with it. you are talking about two very different roads to the same endpoint. photography now exists without any chemical mixtures or film. they are two different mediums, but the END result is still the same, no matter how you came to it.
just like you can write a book without ever having picked up a pen or pencil and put it to paper. doesn't make the literature any less than what it is. by YOUR standards, even film photography is cheating. why aren't you capturing peoples likeness with paint and canvass? why are you letting a machine do all the creating?

you had me sort of following you until the end it got very apples to oranges.... let me ask you this.. say i brought an image into illustrator tweaked a live trace into pathes, then used the paths with a robotic arm to trace the paths onto a canvas... am i a painter? or am i some sort of engineer at that point?
