Do you correct the distortion from wide angle lens? Why? Why not?

Frequently. I hate walls that lean in toward the center. Some people like the distortion, I do not.

I see some people from the film era in another forum like the dramatic distortion from wide angle lenses.

Depends,

If I'm shooting nature, I keep the distortion because I want to enhance the greatness etc

If I'm shooting interiors i.e. working, I'd get fired if I keep the distortion :D

If I want distortion then no, Ieave it. If I do not want distortion then yes, I correct.

What distortion are you referring to? Technically, perspective distortion is not a characteristic of lenses or cameras, but of view point. Our brains correct it for us. But it becomes overwhelmingly apparent on wide angle photos. Or are you referring to barrel and pincushion distortion?

Regardless, I agree with pink.

Geometric distortion, aka barrel/pincushion.
