Going to disagree with you Bynx; I think this one needs re-working, NOT because of the HDR aspect (that's a 'like it or not thing') but rather because I don't think there's enough tonal separation; it's too much gold/green in one image and the car doesn't really stand out.

I like it because it is beyond a photo and into the artwork area. I just like the whole feel and look of it. Its tough and brutal looking, which suits the subject well. Just my opinion.

I think it has its place. Its a love it or hate it thing.

I like it and I don't, I think some more work needs to be done like add some vignette to try to get rid of that Mercedes benz tail light or a tighter crop cropping it out. I like the textures that are going on but the floor is to over powering the whole image. This not an image with a focal point its just an image that you have to take in all of it at the same time.

If the floor could be re-worked and all that dark texture removed it would make for a much better picture in my opinion.

looks like he just masked it with a topaz filter

interesting you knew that was a mercedes in the corner there. you must be a car guy. I agree, it definitely needs some work. Just a quick bracket I took and slapped together during my lunch break today. only processing is mantiuk with high detail factor, overlaid with fattal for more saturation. I could definitely desaturate the yellows/greens in it some for a better color. but hey, like I said, just for fun.

I have not heard of those filter..what software?

I am familiar with Photomatix for hdr and photoshop, nik color effex and topaz for processing

I use rawtherapee and darktable for raw processing, Qtpfsgui for HDR processing and tonemapping, and the Gimp for everything else. I'm new at this, so I'm sticking with open source software for now.

Oh never heard of any of that except gimp....
