Does anybody have the Crumpler 7 Million Dollar Home?

Looking into something more casual. My Tamrac Expedition 7 is nice and it holds 4 bodies (one with a grip), 8 lenses (including 70-200 f/2.8L IS), a strobe, all my accessories, and even a tripod, but it's too big and too boxy to use practically. It's time to get something that I can toss around my shoulder and pull gear out easily.

I don't want a Lowepro Slingshot series...had one and I liked it, but didn't meet my needs. I'm going for the 'messenger' look, and the ease of pulling out not just a body, but a lens or flash too.

The one I've picked out so far is a Crumpler 7 Million Dollar Home. I'd like to fit a 40D w/ grip and 70-200 f/2.8L IS, a 5D with 24-105 f/4L IS, and a strobe in there. Or, simply some combination of 2 bodies, a tele-zoom, a semi-wide, and a strobe. Is this possible? and, is this too big for casual use, even if I put less gear in it?

Does anybody have experience with the Crumpler Million Dollar series?

I got my 6MDH last month, it's great for walking around the city without getting a lot of attention.

I only manage to fit a 40D with 17-55mm attached, Sigma 10-20,Canon 100mm,430ex, and some accessories. I am not sure if it's possible to fit 2 bodies with lens attached in the 7MDH, because 1 body with or without grip takes up a lot of space on the top.

I was debating between the 6MDH and the 7MDH, i ended up going with the 6MDH after reading the review below, because i didn't want anything too big.

I wouldn't recommend loading this bag up with all your gears, because you will feel all the weight on one side of your shoulder after awhile.

I carry my D3 in a black 6, usually carrying it with a couple of primes and the 17-35 f/2.8 zoom. That's a nice fit. It's the first Crumpler bag I have used. My comments:

It's easy to take off all the logos so it looks less nerdy, without damaging the bag or strap.

The size of the Velcro patch on the main flap is very large, and this makes the Velcro rather enthusiastic - too keen to cling and too noisy for me. I would prefer a Velcroless flap with an easy-to-lock, secure buckle or clip, as found on Domkes for example.

The lack of any simple external rear pocket for paperwork bothers me. I'd prefer to have at least one place for small or thin items that I can get to without having to open the main flap. Again, I prefer the typical Domke design, especially given my comments on the Velcro on the main flap.

Other than that it is a good bag. I'd prefer it in black canvas, but that is more of a fashion choice.

Yeah, the lack of an outside pocket that can be closed has always bothered me - everything from wallet to directions or even a boarding pass - I don't want to have to open the main bag, or go digging through my jacket pockets.

A photographer I know, has one or two Crumpler bags and loves them. They look too much like a purse to me, but that's why some people like them.

I do have 2 of them and I do love them, I can fit everything I need in the 7 mil Home. Do not worry about the fact it does not zipper, I have taken mine all over the world with no problems.

But really, people like them because they don't look like camera bags and so might not attract unwanted attention.

Yeah since I'm only 22, I can keep my hair shaggy, forget to shave for a few days, put a white Apple sticker on the bag, and get away with it just fine.

You might have trouble fitting the 40D with the 70-200 on it. I did the same with my gripped 30D for about a week and the bag will barely close if you have it positioned lens first. If you have just the 40D body, the 70-200, the 5D with the 24-105, and a strobe, that should fit fine.

I have the 70-200, gripped 30d with 18-55 sitting on top of the 50mm, 2pw's, 580EX II, and chargers, batteries, etc. Of course I rearranged the dividers in the bag after I couldn't get the 70-200 to work on the camera.

This is my absolute basic kit. I have additional bags for my other flashes and gear that I normally don't use.
