Dog pictures

I love my dogs, but they never want to sit still! I consider myself really lucky to get these shots.

Photographing dogs certainly can be a challenge. I find that using a telephoto lens and standing away from the dogs encourages them to do their own thing and you will tend to get more "posed" type shots.

Here's a couple I did of my dogs using lenses between 200-300mm.

This is in fact the best way to get great dog shots. This way you are able to photograph the dog as he is not as we want him to be.

If I try to pose my dogs they just look confused and sometimes even pissed. Shooting them as they are just kind of doing their dog stuff makes for a much better result.
