What's new

Dogs!

My son and his wife have a sheltie named Daisy also.

My first post.
We met with Roxy in Oak point park. She was a very sweet model and loved to pose.

Nice and sunny out today. Daisy spent most of the afternoon outside. Her highlight of the day was to chase the "Big Blue Beast" (garbage truck) away. She runs circles barking until it is gone.

Nixie at rest! This is Nixie, our Cavvie. Today I tried out a different lens on my R7, a Soviet era Helios 44-M F2 lens that I purchased in Berlin around the time that the wall came down. The lens was manufactured in 1989, so it was a relatively new lens when I acquired it. It was attached to a Soviet Zenit ET SLR at the time.

This is Honey! She is a rescue that had been picked up by animal control in April with multiple issues. So glad they didn't eithanize her. One of my coworkers fostered her, and I decided to add het to our happy family. Approximately 18 month old female of mixed breed but looks to have some American Staffordshire Terrier bread with some smaller dog. Currently very timid and spooks easily, but is slowly warming up to her new family.

I have a somewhat similar dog. Border Collie that was running loose on a local ranch for a bit. Then she worked her way into town. When she came across humans she'd run and hide, been terribly abused! Local rancher told me if I could catch her he had a friend that might take her. Well took a couple weeks but I got her by feeding her out back of the house. Looked her over and she appeared in good shape; should have been as she was eating my chickens. One bad item she is missing her left eye, nothing but an MTY socket. Took her to a vet and got the eye socket sewed up and tear gland out. had her spade and shots up to date. Got her home and then the guy looking for one fell through. The eye was a problem and the abuse shut it down completely. She would not have taken training. That was about 6 yrs ago and today she sleeps in the bedroom and get's along fine with Stormy, Snicker and Abby. Nothing is required of her but judging from her actions around people that been by the house, I wouldn't suggest messing with me, very protective of me! My girl!

Friends' Border Collie "Mara" at work.
Great example of the "Collie Crouch" sheep avoid.
Here's a typical "trial" course:
