These are are few shots from our back deck. They are in my neighbors yard which proved a better scene from where I stood. These were handheld, and a bit shook because of the rainy day. One was taken this am early while the lake fog was rising. I know the sky is blown out, and wonder the best way to deal with that issue. I was shooting at f15 and wonder if that is too high to be shooting a 400 iso in this lighting. I don't recall the shutterspeed, but it seems pretty fast. I was hoping for a longer DOF, and better definition. I guess a tripod is in order for that, but though I could pull this off. This is a much more dramatic scene than I can create with a camera. You question about blown out skies: if all you got is gray skies, keep the sky out of the picture. Also, I always use a tripod for my landscapes so I can maximize DOF yet shoot slow to properly expose. You can't do that when hand holding. You often get camera shake even if it's only noticeable when you print large. Nice shots.
